As a fan of the original Prey, I'm pretty excited to see what Arkane Studios can deliver. The original was different. It stood out from many other titles released at the time and was a whole lot of fun. It had aliens, portals and played with gravity. Overall, it was a fresh experience for gamers across the globe, so what can we expect from the new, rebooted title?

As previously mentioned, this new Prey title is a reboot and as such, has nothing to do with the original. It's a fresh new take, reinvented for the modern gamer. Combining elements from both Bioshock and Dishonoured, Prey looks to be a dark and mysterious fight for survival in this new, survival-horror, sci-fi setting.

With transforming shadow creatures seemingly out for your blood, it looks as though the tension's going to be high. After all, you'll never truly know what could be hiding around the next corner. A chair or perhaps even a coffee mug could lead into a fierce, life or death typed situation, knowing full well as soon as you have your back turned, any surrounding inanimate object could be a murderous shadow creature in disguise.

Aside from sounding like a madman, I personally think this new take looks to be a lot of fun, though with a release scheduled sometime next year, it's still early days yet to know for sure. For now though, all we can do is speculate and hope for the best, but at the very least a new gameplay trailer has been revealed, so set your sights upon it below as my comment about dangerous chairs will make a whole lot more sense to you:
